
VISIT PARLIAMENT
Location
The Parliament Buildings are located in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, on Plot 16-17 Parliament Avenue and Plot 13-15, Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road.
The Buildings are easily accessible on foot by public transport and personal vehicles. However, parking within the precincts of Parliament is restricted.
The prominent developments in the vicinity include the twin towers occupied by the Office of the President and Office of the Prime Minister; Kampala Capital City Authority; the National Theatre; and the Kampala Serena Hotel among others.
VISITING HOURS
Parliament is open to visitors from Monday to Friday.
Individuals or groups visiting Parliament for educational tours or to observe the proceedings of Parliament are required to seek advance permission in writing or online.

The requests can be dropped off at the main entrance of Parliament or emailed to protocol@parliament.go.ug
After permission has been granted, applicants will be contacted and briefed on Standard Operating Procedures in preparation for the educational tours or observing the proceedings of Parliament.
DRESS CODE FOR VISITORS
Students are required to come dressed in full school uniform. Other guests are required to dress formally, in a manner befitting the dignity of Parliament. Male visitors should wear trousers (NO SHORTS, NO OPEN SANDALS) and long or short-sleeved shirts. Female visitors should wear a formal dress, long or short-sleeved blouse and skirt (hemline below the knee) or decent office pants (NO SHORTS). Recognised official uniforms are also allowed.
RULES DURING OBSERVATION OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF PARLIAMENT
- Visitors shall observe the proceedings of Parliament from the public gallery;
- Visitors are required to rise to their feet each time the Speaker’s Procession enters or leaves the Chamber;
- Visitors are not allowed to participate in the debate by means of loud commentary, clapping, standing, stamping of feet, demonstrations or unruly behaviour;
- Visitors are to refrain from any actions, which may interrupt the proceedings in the Chamber, and to abide by any instructions pronounced to the gallery by the Speaker; and
- Failure to observe the conditions herein may result in the removal of the visitor(s) from Parliament and referral to the Police for further action.
***NOTE: Individuals or groups intending to bring cameras or any other electronic devices must seek approval when applying to visit Parliament.
